The Pollinator Garden designed by the Garden Club of Signal Mountain at the Mountain Arts Community Center has now been completed. Some members of the garden club recently put the final touches on the garden by mulching around the plants. 

The garden had many helpers. The garden club wants to recognize the Mountain Arts Community Center Preservation Board for installing an irrigation system and providing nine shrubs for the garden. The Parks and Recreation Department of Signal Mountain removed the grass to begin the garden. Perry Mills Excavating provided two dump truck loads of compost for the garden. The mountain stone surrounding the garden came from Signal Mountain Nursery. Most of the native plants were purchased from Overhill Gardens in Vonore, TN. We want to thank everyone who helped make the pollinator garden a reality.

A little about the garden: the garden was made in two sections, and the design is a mirror image. More than 33 varieties of native plants and shrubs were planted in the garden, with the plants blooming from early spring through fall. Plant colors run from white, red, blue, yellow, and purple and attract all types of bees and butterflies. We hope that the community will enjoy this garden for years to come. A garden is never really finished, because a garden is always a work in progress.
